As part of our ongoing commitment to sustainability and community engagement, 27 volunteers from Metito Dubai and Sharjah offices teamed up for a desert clean-up drive in Dubai.
ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) principles are at the core of our sustainability efforts, reflecting our belief that companies should contribute to the long-term health and well-being of the environment and society. This initiative is aligned with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 14 – Life below water, and 15 – Life on Land, and the UAE’s ‘Year of Sustainability,’ demonstrating our commitment to fostering environmental consciousness and sustainable practices.
The cleanup drive took place on Saturday, 2nd March 2024 in Al Qudra desert, which is a sprawling desert conservation area spanning over 80 square kilometers, boasting pristine dunes, serene lakes, and indigenous flora and fauna. During the event, volunteers diligently collected plastic waste, cigarette stubs, and other non-biodegradable materials, which posed serious threats to the local wildlife. Their efforts targeted mitigating the impact on the wildlife and surroundings, fostering a positive environmental change in the area.
Let’s continue to unite, act, and deliver on our commitment to sustainability, creating a better future for all.
