The Saudi Water Partnership Company (SWPC), together with the consortium led by Metito —including Metito Utilities, Mowah Co., and Orascom Construction —has been awarded the Finance/Partnerships Award at the WEX Global Awards for the Dammam Independent Sewage Treatment Plant (ISTP) project. This landmark initiative marks the first municipal wastewater Public-Private Partnership (PPP) in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, setting a new benchmark for sustainable infrastructure development in the region.
The award was presented during the WEX Global event held in Spain earlier this week and was received by key representatives from the consortium and stakeholders: Walid Madwar, Vice President – Business Development, Metito Utilities; Dr. Mostafa Mubdhari, Chief Business Excellence Officer, Mowah ; Suliman Musaad, PPP Projects Manager, NWC Privatization & Transactions; Francois Basselot, Client Director, Atkins.
This recognition underscores the project’s innovative financing structure, strategic collaboration between public and private sectors, and its critical role in supporting the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 objectives for water sustainability and infrastructure resilience.
